NOTES
* * - Repeat instructions between the asterisks as many times as instructed.
Turn at the end of each row.
Ch sps do not count as sts.
The ch 1 at the beginning of the row does not count as a st.
Instead of the ch 3 at the beginning of the row as in the diagram I use the altch2, makes a much neater edge.
INSTRUCTIONS
NOTE: The first row on the diagram is a chain row. Since we are making scarves/cowls I prefer a sc/fsc row as the first row, looks neater.
Row 1: fsc 25 (or any multiple of 6 + 1) (25 sts)
Optional Row 1: ch 26 (or any multiple of 6 + 2), sc in the 2nd ch from the hook and each ch across. (25 sts)
Row 2: altch2, * skip 2 sts, V-ST in the next st, skip 2 sts, dc in the next st * across.
Row 3: altch2, skip 1 st, CLUSTER in the next ch sp, * ch 1, skip 3 sts, CLUSTER in the next ch sp * across, skip 1 st, dc in the last st.
Row 4: (altch2, ch 1, dc) in the first st, skip 2 sts, dc in the next st, skip 2 sts, * V-ST in the next ch sp, skip 2 sts, dc in the next st, skip 2 sts * across, (dc, ch 1, dc) in the last st.
Row 5: altch2, 2 dc in the next ch sp, ch 1, skip 3 sts, * CLUSTER in the next ch sp, ch 1, skip 3 sts * across, 2 dc in the last ch sp, dc in the last st.
Row 6: altch2, skip 2 sts, V-ST in the next ch sp, skip 2 sts, * dc in the next st, skip 2 sts, V-ST in the next ch sp, skip 2 sts * across, dc in the last st.
Repeat Rows 3 - 6 until desired length.
Last Row: ch 1, sc in the first 2 sts, 3 sc in the next ch sp, * sc in the next 3 sts, 3 sc in the next ch sp * across, sc in the last 2 sts. (25 sts)
Fasten off, weave ends.
